How to get verified on Tinder?

January 20, 2023 by Akane Kogami Leave a Comment

Many Tinder users would love it if their accounts were verified. Well, why not? The scary stories you hear about meeting people online are all too true, and some users want a way to prove that they are a real person and not some weirdo. As you read, the question will make you a little sad, but there is a bright side. So, can it happen?

How to get verified on Tinder?

Can you get verified on Tinder?

No…but something along those lines. Tinder’s verification is private and not for people who want to throw money at you. Instead, a verified status on Tinder means only this, according to the company’s website:

“Only some public figures, celebrities and brands can be verified. If you are a public figure and would like to request a verified badge, please email [email protected] Note: Emailing us does not guarantee that your profile will be verified.”

Why only those particular people? So, think about who they are. For example, celebrities have a lot of power over how many people think. You see them giving their opinions all the time on social media like Twitter, and if someone was evil enough to make a fake profile of them, they could use that to take advantage of people. How would you feel if you thought Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was talking to you?

So, yes, those few can get verified to stop the fake accounts from coming in. Think a famous person is talking to you? On a blue background, look for a white check mark. Don’t see one? So it’s not true. Seeing one means you’re talking to a real person.

Verification scams

Because of this, bots can trick Tinder users who don’t know what they’re doing into thinking they’re verifying their account when, in reality, they’re being scammed out of money. If you don’t have a feature that people want, someone will try to take advantage of you.

First, let’s make sure the people in the back understand: you CANNOT verify your Tinder account. If you’re not in the group of people who can, you’ll never be able to. So, you should know how the verification code scam works and what you can do to stay away from it.

First, a fake account is matched with the real one. It’s hard to figure out who they are, but that doesn’t matter. What matters is what they say. When you can talk to each other, the bot will usually send you a message first. When the two of you send each other messages, pay attention to how quickly you answer. Is it nearly instant, faster than a person can do? You might get a bot.

Send them a few messages, but don’t tell them anything about yourself. Because the bot will ask you to confirm your account at some point. When they do that, you’ll know they’re a bot right away, especially if they send you a verification link right away. DON’T CLICK ON THE LINK. They will ask for your credit card information and then take money out of your bank account.

Connect Tinder to your Instagram account to “verify” it.

Even if you don’t believe it, there is a link between Tinder and Instagram that you can use to indirectly verify your Tinder account. Now, this doesn’t get you a badge or anything, but it does let other Tinder users know that you are a real person. Make your account seem more real.

Here’s what you should do:

  1. Find the Instagram app and open it.
  2. Click Edit info on your profile page.
  3. Go to the bottom and look for Connect Instagram.
  4. Sign in with your Instagram account, and they will be linked. People who are interested in you on Tinder can see your Instagram profile as an extension of your Tinder profile. They can look at your pictures and other information.

So, it won’t give you a badge, but it will give you a better reason to say you exist. It’s the best way for the average Tinder user to prove who they are.
